Early Signs of Pregnancy Before a Missed Period

From implantation spotting to fatigue, these early clues may appear before you even miss a period.

Early Signs of Pregnancy Before a Missed Period

Some women notice subtle changes even before a missed period. While none of these signs alone confirm pregnancy, experiencing several together may prompt an early test.

Implantation Spotting

Light spotting or brown discharge can occur 6–12 days after conception when the embryo attaches to the uterine lining. This is typically lighter and shorter than a regular period.

Breast Changes

Hormonal shifts can cause tenderness, swelling, or a tingling sensation in the breasts as early as one to two weeks after conception.

Fatigue & Nausea

Rising progesterone levels may cause unusual tiredness. Some women also experience mild nausea before a missed period, though "morning sickness" more commonly begins around week 6.

Other Clues

Frequent urination, mood swings, bloating, and heightened sense of smell are additional early indicators.
