The home stretch! Your baby is gaining weight rapidly and practicing breathing. Here is your essential checklist.
Weeks 27–30
- Finalize your birth plan
- Take a hospital tour
- Begin counting kick counts daily
- Register for childbirth classes
Weeks 31–34
- Pack your hospital bag
- Install the car seat
- Set up the nursery
- Pre-register at the hospital
Weeks 35–37
- Schedule your Group B strep test
- Stock up on postpartum supplies
- Prepare freezer meals
- Review signs of labor with your provider
Weeks 38–40
- Rest when possible
- Keep your phone charged
- Know when to call your doctor or head to the hospital
Babies born between 39–40 weeks are considered "full term" and generally have the best outcomes.
