Elective Ultrasound Package Pricing: A Measurement-First Guide
TL;DR — There is no universal best package count, price, anchor, discount, or expected lift. Build a fully costed baseline, describe inclusions clearly, test one change with a defined cohort, and judge it by completed bookings, refunds, support burden, and contribution margin.
Establish the cost floor
For each package, include staff time, room time, equipment and software, payment fees, consumables, delivery, support, rescan or refund exposure, marketing cost, taxes, and any vendor fee. Separate fixed costs from costs that rise with each completed appointment.
Make the offer understandable
State session purpose, duration, image and video deliverables, delivery method, access period, guests, add-ons, rescan/refund terms, and any timing limits. Do not bundle clinical claims into a non-diagnostic keepsake package.
Choose one variable to test
Test a price, inclusion, package name, add-on, or bundle—not all of them at once. Define the audience, test window, minimum sample, success metric, and stop rule before launch. Keep a valid comparison offer available where required.
Measure the whole funnel
Use unique qualified visitors or eligible appointments as the denominator. Track package views, booking starts, completed bookings, cancellations, fulfilled appointments, refunds, chargebacks, support time, collected revenue, and contribution margin. A higher average ticket can still produce a worse result if completion or margin falls.
Review client and legal impact
Check local rules, advertising claims, refund and cancellation terms, accessibility, and how discounts or referrals are disclosed. Avoid urgency or anchoring claims that are not genuine. Publish prices and terms consistently across the website, booking system, advertisements, and front desk.
Decide from your own evidence
Compare like-for-like cohorts and document outside changes such as seasonality or paid media. Keep the change only if the measured client experience and contribution margin improve. Bomee Core, Bomee Air, and BabyView AI have different workflows; ask for current written terms before including any of them in a package model.
