Ultrasound Studio Retention: A Consent-Based Measurement Plan
TL;DR — A studio can test relevant follow-up across pregnancy milestones, but there is no universal repeat-visit rate or revenue lift. Collect channel-specific consent, make each offer optional, and measure completed repeat visits and contribution margin with a defined cohort.
Establish the baseline
Use unique clients as the denominator. Record first visits, completed repeat visits, cancellations, refunds, collected revenue, acquisition spend, variable cost, and contribution margin over the same maturity window.
Design permitted, relevant follow-up
Ask separately for email, SMS, or other marketing consent and provide a clear opt-out. Base a reminder on the service the studio actually offers, not a medical claim or a fixed pregnancy outcome. Do not contact a referred person until that person has consented.
Test milestone offers one at a time
A studio may test an early keepsake visit, a later 3D/4D session, an optional final-look visit, a clearly labeled AI keepsake, or a post-birth comparison. Publish inclusions, timing, expiration, rescheduling, refund, and no-show terms. Local rules and clinical guidance still apply.
Measure repeat business honestly
Count completed repeat visits, not messages sent, offer codes, booking starts, or app opens. Attribute by cohort and channel, subtract discounts and variable costs, and track complaints and opt-outs. Expand only when the measured client and economic outcomes are acceptable.
Bomee Core and the Bomee App can support digital delivery and continued access. Their effect on retention depends on the studio's consent, offer, audience, and execution.
